Brrrr....

I am planning to run the Wiltshire half marathon on Sunday, 9th December (!)2012, at 11:00 with 349 other "athletes" in memory of Paul .  It will be freezing cold, wet, dark and horrible.  (Probably)  Knowing that I'll be raising some money for a very worthwhile cause, in memory of my brother-in-law Paul Thompson, will certainly help me get round the course.

More about Paul and Legacy for a Legend

"Legacy for a Legend" is a Named Fund that has been set up in partnership with Oxfordshire Community Foundation in memory of Paul, who as you may know suddenly collapsed during a football training session earlier this year. Tragically, despite every effort made by both Paul’s football colleagues and paramedics, Paul could not be saved. At only 38 years old Paul died from a sudden cardiac event.

Paul, a devoted father and husband, was a healthy, fit and hardworking person. His main passion was playing bass in two local bands and he also enjoyed many sports and activities, especially playing football on regular basis, and loved being part of a team.

Aims of the charity

Through various fund raising projects the main aims of "Legacy for a Legend" are:

    - To give musical groups and individuals the help they need to achieve their musical dreams.

     - To assist with various music and sport related projects within local communities around Oxfordshire.

     - To work with football clubs to ensure that they are able to assist footballers in a medical emergency on the pitch.

Many thanks in advance for your support
