My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sport relief are a fantastic organisation because everybody who takes part WINS! The people who donate know that their money will be spent well on the most vulberable in society all over the world; the people doing the fundraising get the satisfaction of achieving something they may not ordinarily do; and most importantly some of the most at risk in communities all over the world receive vital support.
As I've been a keen rower for many years I decided to encourage a number of fellow rowers to join in with me and break the 24 hour distance records on the indoor rowing machine in 3 different age categories. 3 teams of 2 rowers will be doing this challenge, each team covering a distance of over 300km. In addition there will be a sprint challenge taking place, where people can pay to enter. The winners of this event will receive a prize......hopefully donated by a generous company (hint, hint!) The event takes place on 23rd and 24th June at Salford Quays, which ties in with the Olympic Torch's arrival in the city.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. If you have a non-cash donation to act as a prize or will help support the event in some way please email me at markjyparsons@hotmail.com .
