Story
One of my close friends is fighting Leukemia. He is a truly inspiring and engaging man who has so positively impacted on the dynamic of my own life.
Even though He is winning his fight with Leukemia, mainly people aren't so lucky. This is one of the reasons why i have chosen to raise money for Sue Ryder. I also know many people who have received care from Sue Ryder hospices. Our local Sue Ryder hospice is St Johns in Moggerhanger.
They have 15 beds and provide residential services for people aged 18 and over who have been referred to them by a healthcare professional. They do not just care for their patients; they also look after and support their families and carers, offering bereavement help and spiritual care.
I have helped raise money for Sue Ryder before, We rowed down the River Thames. This took 4 days, working on a shift system, 2 hours on 2 hours off.
We are also encouraging people to donate Blood & Platelets, as this is a major part of the treatment needed to fight Leukemia
