Story

Hello!

2009 hasnt quite gone to plan!!! After Ironman 70.3 Geelong in Feb, I never felt more ready to take on the London Marathon and various Ironmans planned. Sadly it wasnt to be but I am now really happy to say that I am still going ahead with my 24hr time trial / cycle....

My original plan was to do this on a road bike and in the summer but having had the Euro Long Dist Tri Champs in August and due to my time 'off games', I now plan to take on the challenge of 24 hours of continous cycling in December. The health and safety committee (mum) has advised that an indoor, stationary bike might be a bit more sensible than doing it on the road....

The plan......

At 3pm on Friday 11th December I will push the first watt and start the challenge with the aim to cycle continously on a spin bike for 24hrs (with quick (!?) toilet breaks allowed). I will be set up at

Horsley Sports Club, East Horsley, Surrey , KT24 5AH.

To makes things a bit more interesting I will have another bike by my side.....and here's where the fundraising comes in............I WANT YOU TO JOIN ME and I am selling slots for you to do so.....

30min or 1hr slots are available at £30 for 30mins or £50 for 1hr. Choice of time is first come first served!

Please do so by logging into the site, donating and LEAVING A COMMENT AS TO WHICH TIME(S) YOU WISH TO TAKE.

What else is happening?

To make the weekend that bit more enticing for your trip to East Horsley there will be a number of events running throughout the weekend including:

* Live band and party time on the Friday evening from 7pm

* A festive cake and other ‘ride essentials’ sale on the Saturday morning from 7am

* A Watt Bike power competition throughout Saturday with a cash prize of £100 for male and female winners.

* Talks on training from a professional multisport coach from midday Saturday

So please come down on the Friday evening and / or Saturday with friends and family if not for a cycle just for a fun night and day of live music, beer, cake and of course, laughter at my pain....
