24 Hour Poolathon · 17 April 2009

Leeds Mencap offers compassionate, tailored support to children and young people in the city who have learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. We support both them and their families and carers to develop their strengths, build lasting connections and achieve their full potential.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Let me introduce the two of us to you all, my name is Graeme Hunter and my team member for this event is my Stepdad Terrence Cook.  I work at a company in Leeds called Addleshaw Goddard who regularly support the charity Leeds Mencap which is how this event came about, and Terry plays on the same pool team as me at the Nags Head pub in Bradford which is how the venue came about.

As the heading of the event tells you, we are embarking on what some people may consider madness but yes you are reading it correctly... it is a pool match between the 2 of us which is to last for 24 hours.  The only breaks we are to get (apart from eating and the other obvious one) are when people come in for a frame and make a donation, but at any time one of us has to be playing a game.

Please have a read about our charity and sponsor us as much as you can.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Leeds Mencap gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
