Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.
We (Steve, Lorcan, Matt and Ben) are taking on the three peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.
The aim, with your help, is to raise at least £2,000 to go towards research into finding a cure for sufferers of Myotonic Dystrophy.
MYOTONIC DYSTROPHY…
Myotonic Dystrophy is a progressive muscle weakness and wasting condition that affects 1 in 8000 people. The muscles involved are usually in the face, jaw and neck area and the hands and feet. Involvement of other body systems is frequent; associated problems may include cataracts, disturbance of heart rhythm, hormonal problems and, in children, learning difficulties.
Steve’s wife Shona suffers from the condition.
If you would like to find out more please read Shonas blog http://www.apgdblog.blogspot.com or refer to one of the two following websites; 1. http://www.myotonicdystrophysupportgroup.org 2. http://www.muscular-dystrophy.org/about_muscular_dystrophy/conditions/103_myotonic_dystrophy
