Story
We did it! We completed the run in 26 hours 36 mins. Thanks so much to those who donated and supported us throughout the run. It was great to know people were following us.
For a short time, a summary of our run is available here: http://tinyurl.com/27hoursGPS2
James, Guy and myself recreated the original Beer Run, Smokey and the Bandit, with a twist: London-Stelvio-London in 27 hours for some fresh Stelvio beer, all in the name of charity and delivered for Saturday night (15th August 2009).
[Original text:] We will be funding the trip entirely ourselves. Every penny raised will go direct to the charity for whom my wife and I will be volunteering in Tanzania: www.foreverangels.org, whose invaluable work makes a difference to both the babies and their families.

The run is just under 1,600 miles in 27 hours in GO VRS. The various online route providers reckon it's 13.5 hours each way but that doesn't include petrol or rest stops or wait time at the crossing. Smokey and the Bandit was 28 hours, we've figured because we don't have a truck in tow, we can do it in 27 hours.
