During my challenge i wish to raise money for the African-Caribbean Luekemia Trust (ACLT) which promotes bone marrow and blood donation http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html as this charity is close to my heart, being a friend of Daniel DeGale. You can help me to raise money by donating £3 for each week you feel i can do or £10 if you think i can do the entire 28 days!!!!!!! You can also keep up with me on my blog which will also be documenting my days as well http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html
I started today (2/2/10) and it was great introducing the challenge to work colleagues who loved the idea and was very proud and supportive!!!! For the first half hour i was thinking that the time would fly by and it wouldn't be too bad. By the third hour i was in a lot of pain!! Had to kind of walk around a lot and spend some time spinning around (like 2 mins) but i completed it and i felt great!! By the end of the day i had come to learn that one of my colleagues had a family member that died from leukemia at the age of 16, in her arms and that her whole community was shocked by this!!!!! She told me a very touching story, it was so strange to even think that so many people have and are affected by leukemia!! I was thinking that i wouldn't have known this about her if i didn't do the challenge and it has given me more inspiration to complete the challenge and raise as much money and awareness as possible!!!!!!!!!!!
