We offer care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer

Story

On 4th December, Luke Birch and Jamie Sparks set off from La Gomera in the Canaries to break the world record for the youngest pair to row the Atlantic. (Luke says he will be the first Man with a Mullet across the pond too!) We aim to raise £100,000 for Breast Cancer Care. You can see their progress here.

The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is one of the toughest endurance feats on the planet - more people have gone into space than rowed the Atlantic! It will take around 50 days of non-stop rowing in two hour shifts, day and night burning around 10,000 calories a day. Our 'fuel' will be dehydrated food made up with sea-water, desalinated using solar power. Our tiny boat has just one minute 'cabin' for shelter and rest, and everything we need has to be carried with uson the boat.

It is a massive Challenge for a cause that is very close to our hearts, as Luke's mother and Grandmother have both battled breast cancer. We are sure you will all know people affected by this disease too, so please dig deep to support Breast Cancer Care in their work to make sure that everybody with breast cancer gets the treatment, support  and information they need!

We have covered all our costs with commercial sponsorship, from WeSEE.com, Duracell, Reed.co.uk, Sidley Austin, Buzzacott and many others, so every penny you donate will go to help people affected by Breast Cancer.

Thank you so much,

Luke and Jamie
