In May we trekked to Machu Picchu! This mad idea came about because we are both celebrating milestones in our lives - Lynda reached a special age with a '0' on the end whilst we were there and Cherry will be 30 years after breast cancer! It seemed the right time to have an adventure and at the same time ask people to sponsor us to raise money for our favourite charity!
Since we are both complementary therapists at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre it seemed only right that we raise money for this wonderful place of which we are both so fortunate to be a part.
Each year, the LJMC receives approximately 15,000 requests for help and has to raise half its income in order to meet these requests.
We chose to pay for this adventure ourselves so that every penny we raise will go directly to the LJMC.
So, after months of training and preparation, we made it to Peru. To say we had an amazing time is an understatement!
At times, it was pretty tough with some challenging walking but, for both of us, it meant a great deal and of course was all for a great cause.
