We're planning on kayaking from Devizes to Westminster
along the Kennet& Avon Canal and the River Thames. Following in the
paddlestrokes of Sir Steve Redgrave competing in the DW race (
http://www.dwrace.org.uk/) - one of the most demanding endurance events on
the planet.

After several failed (and hilarious for a local yacht club) attempts at
paddling a marathon K2, we're using two single seater kayaks

We're setting off on 8th August from Devizes and traveling along the canal
to Newbury, which is 34.5 miles. Staying overnight in Newbury and then
travelling to Marlow on the 9th; partly on the Kennet & Avon and then the
River Thames. Another 34.5 miles. Day 3 is spent paddling from Marlow to
Kingston-Upon-Thames, unfortunately that's 37 miles. Then on the last day
we're leaving Kingston and paddling the last 17 miles to Putney instead of
Westminster. We were advised by the Port of London Authority not to travel
any further than Putney outside of a legitimate organised event. Due to
them experiencing metre high waves further down the Thames and a large
volume of commercial traffic at that time of year.

If any body fancies coming along to support (or heckle) us, we're staying
