Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Sunrise, July 24th 2011. A group of intrepid explorers are gathered in a lonely carpark in Horton-In-Ribblesdale to attempt the 3 Yorkshire Peaks. One of the group is to leave these Green and Pleasant shores for the Land of the Rising Sun. So to imprint on him just how green and pleasant they are, we've decided he needs to walk a fair portion of them. And raise some cash for charity. And then get the first round in.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk is a very demanding but rewarding walk, which takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres - 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres - 2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723 metres 2,372 feet) all in one circular route. The walk is 24.5 miles (39.2km) long and takes in over 5,000 feet (1,600 metres) of climbing. By tradition, the walk must be completed within 12 hours for you to be able to join the "Three Peaks of Yorkshire Club"

By sponsoring us to achieve what is essentially a marathon, but with the added complication of 3 large hills in the way, we help Greater Mental Wealth achieve their aim of supporting and providing additional activities for patients with mental health needs in the North West.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
