It advances the education of the pupils at Beaumont Hill Special School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities not normally provided by the school budget - for example funding for residentials, functions, and additional resources.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Hey everyone i've organised a 3 peaks 24hrs challenge to raise money for the Beaumont Hill School Charity the money will be used as a part of the new sensory playground/garden.

Beaumont Hill School caters for 225 pupils from 2-19 with a full range of special educational needs. The primary Autism department within Beaumont Hill is currently raising funds in order to build a sensory garden which we aim to assist. Autism is characterized by widespread abnormalities of social interactions and communication as well as severely restricted interests and highly repetitive behavior.  Pupils will be able to access the sensory garden in order to explore independently in addition to having the opportunity to play and interact with their classmates and their peers from the mainstream Springfield school; making this area fully inclusive. The pupils will be able to make progress in understanding the world around them within a safe and supportive environment where their sensory seeking needs can be addressed.

The three peaks are Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scar fell pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in Wales, a total climb height of 11,178 feet, all of which will be completed within a 24hr window. The challenge will take place on Saturday the 26th of September at midday in Scotland and finish Sunday 27th of September midday in Wales. I would like to say a special thankyou to Donald Peacock for volunteering to drive for the weekend.
