UK Three Peaks 24 Hour Challenge · 4 September 2009

CLAPA is the national UK charity supporting people affected by cleft lip and palate. We provide specialist feeding equipment, trusted information, one‑to‑one and online support, youth services, and community events, while raising awareness and championing better cleft care for all.

Story

Thanks for visiting Tilly's JustGiving page.

Tilly was born in April 2009 with a cleft lip and gum. As a result she will need surgery and continued intervention such as speech therapy, orthodontic work and counselling throughout her childhood. She, along with her parents, have already received amazing support from organisations working for children born with clefts.

One such organisation is the Cleft Lip And Palate Association (CLAPA) who, along with the South West Cleft Unit, has played a major part in ensuring Tilly and her parents have been cared for and informed both pre and postnatally.

CLAPA offer services to improve the quality of life and opportunity for all babies born with a cleft lip, palate or gum. They create access to social networks, provide information, feeding equipment and advice for both children and their parents. To see more about the work of CLAPA you can visit their website (www.clapa.com).

Tilly's Dad, Simon, Granddad, Pete and 3 of their friends will be attempting to climb the UK's 3 highest peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in 24 hours on 4th September to raise funds for CLAPA. Simon, Pete and Andrew will be walking with Aubrey and Phil sharing the driving and cooking the walkers up some tasty treats.
