Story

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page! Here you'll find details on the three things I'm doing for the lovely Waverley Care and how you can get involved!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">I've been a supporter of Waverley Care for about 7 years now as a volunteer "buddy" (i.e. befriender) to someone with HIV. They are a great organisation and do loads of super work which you can read more about here: <a href="http://www.waverleycare.org/content/ourservices/108/"><span style="color: #800080;">http://www.waverleycare.org/content/ourservices/108/</span></a></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">You may have also seen folks shaking buckets and giving out tartan ribbons at various events in the Edinburgh festival - that's them too!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">So the first thing I'm doing is an abseil. That's scary enough one might think... but let's try doing it off the Forth Rail Bridge shall we? It's on Sunday 8th May and spectators are more than welcome - so come along to watch and make sure I do it!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">The second thing is the Stornoway half marathon on 28th May - I've never been to Stornoway before and at least this way I'll see at least 13.1 miles of it... </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">Finally, I'll be running the Hoy half marathon two weeks later on 12th June. I'm originally from Orkney and ran it last year (so it can't have been that bad...?). This year it's the 25th anniversary and I'll be trying to beat my time of 1 hour 56 minutes!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">Now it's the bit where you come in :) I'm doing three things and so can you:</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">1. If you wish to encourage and re-inforce this ridiculous sort of behaviour, give as little or much as you can and sponsor me by following the steps below! Every donation will make a difference!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">2. Wear a Waverley Care tartan ribbon and help raise awareness - I have spent many an hour making them and will happily give one to anyone and everyone!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">3. Um, repeat steps 1 and 2.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">Thanks for taking the time to read about what I'm going to be up to these next couple of months and doing what you can to help me support Waverley Care!</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">Kim</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: #1c1c1c; font-family: Tahoma;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
