Story

Most people would think that reaching the ripe old age of thirty would be the time to start giving your body a break and start enjoying things like crib, pipe smoking and afternoon naps. Most may even say that to attempt a challenge involving anything physical at this stage would be madness. However, like German tourists, the stupid are everywhere.

So after much deliberation on what challenge to set ourselves, Tommy and I settled on attempting to take part in 30 events before we turn 30 (in 18 months or so, but who's counting) with 3 simple rules:

1. We cannot enter the same event twice

2. We must both complete the event

3. The event must be run by, and open to the public

The story of our journey, details of the events we are taking part in and so on will be for the time being posted on the blog www.thirtybefore30.blogspot.com. Although we will hopefully be making a better site in the near future. And a twitter may be made but for the moment the twitter feed will be my own @andrewosullivan.

Even though this is more of a personal challenge for Tommy and I, we felt it would be a good opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause along the way.

We chose ONE Water for a number of reasons, not simply because I have a connection with the charity, but because the work they do is fantastic and traditionally raise their money through their bottled water products. We felt that supplying water to children in Africa would be an amazing thing to do, and one water do this in the most innovative and productive way we found.

Check out the great work they do at http://www.onedifference.org/food-drink/water

So if you can see the obvious difference they are making, sling us a few bob in support, and spread the word.

Cheers
