Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We will be spending 30 hours on the Weston Wheel from 12noon on Friday 27th August to 6pm Saturday 28th August to raise funds to fight muscle disease. Myself, Lynnette, Don, Khurm and Tom will be entering the pods at 12noon on the Friday, being joined by Kimberly after we have spent the night up on the wheel for the final 10 hours.
If staying in the confines of the small pods for 30 hours and through the night wasn’t enough, myself and Kimberley both have muscular dystrophy and Lynette has cerebral palsy. Khurm will be taking part during Ramadam so will only be able to eat after 9pm and will have breakfast at 3am.
I am hoping this fundraising event will be a WHEELY wonderful chance to raise awareness of my condition, muscular dystrophy. Care services in my area often feel like a never-ending cycle of uncertainty. By spending 30 hours on the wheel I am hoping to raise enough money towards breaking this cycle for the 70,000 children and adults living with muscular dystrophy and related muscle diseases.

“You could fly to Australia in 24 hours and we are going to be in pod for 30, but we hope we will raise great awareness of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and people will dig deep to sponsor us. We know with the night clubs so close we won’t get much sleep.”
