Story

I would like to invite your support in our efforts to raise £20000 for the new Cornwalls children’s charity, The Little Harbour Hospice, Royal Navy Benevolent Trust and Cornwall Air Ambulance.  These charities are all self funding and provide some of the most valuable support to the local communities and children of Cornwall.

Two Royal Marine Commandos, Cpl Justin Morgan and Cpl Damian Barnes from 771 Search and Rescue Squadron and SWAST Paramedic Wayne Davey are setting out to complete one of the most challenging cycle rides in the world by completing West to East coast of the USA. Our intention is to complete the 3100 mile ride in 17 days, riding almost non stop whilst scaling the equivalent climb of Mount Everest four times in the first 1000 miles, then to battle the hurricane states, before finishing in New York City on or around 10 October 2012.

About the charity

The RMBF was formed to relieve need, distress or hardship suffered by any person who is serving, has served or is a dependant of a Royal Marine, irrespective of rank. It also provides immediately on the death of either a serving RM or a reservist on duty a sum of money for the next of kin to help them cope with any pressing financial matters.
