2015 Update!
I've decided to lace up the trainers again and get this show back on the road. It's always annoyed me that I feel just a few hundred pounds short of the target back in 2012 so that's the first target this time around!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking on a challenge in 2012 to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. What this charity is aiming to acheive doesn't need explaining; cancer is something which afftects one in three people at some point in their lives and has had at least an indirect impact on almost everyone. Anything that aims to beat cancer is worth supporting and if I can help in a small way, then I'm more than willing. Follow the link on this page if you want to see more of the great work that's being done by this amazing charity.
So, along with other events throughout the year, the basis of my fundraising efforts for 2012 will be to run every day of the year: NO EXCEPTIONS. Here are the 3 golden rules:
1. The challenge begins on 1st January 2012 and ends on 31st December 2012
2. I have to run a minimum of 2 miles per day
3. A picture of either my Garmin watch (which shows distance, time, pace etc) or the treadmill display in the gym will be posted each day.
That's it. Simple!
Those of you that know me will be aware that I've only really started to run over the last couple of years. I've completed 2 half-marathons and a few 10k runs, but always find that my motivation starts to flag after a few months, or after a specific event is completed. So, alongside avoiding injury, keeping motivated for a whole year will be the biggest challenge for me
I'd like to urge anyone and everyone to PLEASE sponsor me. I've decided to aim high with a target of £3,650 throughout the year and will be exploring other ways to help raise reach this milestone. So please dig deep, donate now and let your friends know too!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you all. See you at the finish line!
