Glaucoma is a leading cause of preventable sight loss. Glaucoma UK is the only UK charity solely dedicated to supporting people with the disease. We provide all our services free to anyone who needs them. This gift will enable us to support and represent people living with glaucoma.

Story

On August 1st, 6 soldiers from the 36 Engineer Regiment inMaidstone will be taking on the challenge of the Mazda London Triathlon (ExCel Centre).

The Sprint Team Relay will include LCpl Simon Goodsell (750m Swim), SSgt Mark Hopkins (20km Bike) and Cpl Bikash Shrestha (5km Run).

The Olympic Team Relay will include Lt Edward Gay (1500m Swim), SSgt Richard Hooper (40km Bike) and Spr Ujjal Shrestha (10km Run).

'We feel very fortunate to be taking part in this challenging event and raising much needed funds for the International Glaucoma Association. This is a great opportunity for us to dedicate our teamwork to a charitable cause and combine fun, strength and stamina to boot!'
