It supports the work of the Nigel Hunter Nursery, a therapy centre named after the first specialist paediatrician to work in Gloucestershire. This offers to support to infants with disability, from birth to 3 years, through multi-professional therapy, assessment, play and family support.

Story

The fourth annual Three Children’s Charities Bike Ride will be taking place this year on Sunday 17 June at Beechenhurst in the Forest of Dean, in aid of the Forest of Dean Children’s Opportunity Centre, Friends of the Nigel Hunter Nursery and the Milestone School Summer Holiday Activity Scheme. All money raised, including donations to this site, will be divided equally between the charities, who all support children with disabilities in Gloucestershire. Many of the disabled children who will benefit are themselves being sponsored to take part, some on special Tomcat bikes and others in wheelchairs.

For the children and their families, there is a 3 mile nature treasure hunt, whilst those looking for a greater challenge can do a 10 mile walk or the 25 mile cross country bike ride, all finishing at Beechenhurst in time for a well earned barbecue lunch.
