Story

The 3 City Challenge - 82 Miles! (An ULTRA Marathon)

Robin and Jabulani took part in the first ever 3 City Challenge. It was an 82 mile route starting at the Clock Tower in Leicester before heading over to the Bullring in Birmingham, then the Millenium Square in Coventry and finishing at the Walkers Stadium in Leicester.

We completed the 82 mile route in 31 hours and 5 minutes without stopping for sleep. It was a gruelling route and although we aimed to complete it in 24 hours, we didn't give up and kept going.

We had someone meet us at 3 different points to exchange some clothes/food/water etc. The bags we carried would have been huge otherwise. Other than that, we had absolutely no support. We had to stop at shops on the way to get the majority of our fuel and water.

Both of us had never taken part in any organising running or walking event previously so it was a huge achievement for us both.

We were both limping after about half way and had sore joints and muscles for a week after, but we didn't do any serious damage.

Donations will be open and the British Deaf Association needs the money, so please donate if you didn't before the challenge!
