Story
The Corus canoe squad has accepted its challenge assignment - we’ve decided to simply paddle the full length of Ullswater, Coniston Water and Windermere, a total of 37km using canoes or kayaks. Naturally we will cycle the 39km between the lakes and complete the whole event in less than 12 hours and then we will drink ten pints (between us)!
Given that the squad has very little collective canoeing experience, this may prove to be difficult. However the intensive physical and mental training programme has begun in earnest. Dan and Richard are living at the gymn out of work time, Chris does Superman strength exercises in the office at lunchtime, Kelvin is quietly confident and has requested an upgrade to 7 lakes. Four of us now have experience of falling in (which can be a little embarrassing).
Health & Safety will of course remain our Number 1 Priority and we will be having a regular headcount to ensure noone has sunk. Wish us luck and please sponsor us for a worthy cause:
We are raising money for the MS Trust. Multiple Sclerosis is an absolutely devastating and unpredictable disease which affects every aspect of life. We would be really grateful if you could help us to raise money for this cause by sponsoring us in this rock 'ard challenge.
