Story
I completed my 3 Peaks Challenge in Wales at 11.11am on sunday 26th June, 20 hours and 41 minutes after starting my ascent of Ben Nevis, Scotland.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I am one of a team of 12 chaps undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge. We are raising money for the recently completed purpose built cancer unit (the Primrose Unit) at Bedford Hospital in conjunction with Bedford Hospitals Charity. We hope to raise sufficient money to purchase three Pulse Oxymeters, which are required for both monitoring of patients at the unit and for cancer screening endoscopy (colon cancer screening) monitoring.
Have you heard of the Three Peaks Challenge? Our teams challenge is to ascend Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales) during a single 24 hour period starting on 25th June and finishing on 26th June. It involves walking 26 miles and climbing 10,000 feet, and driving over 450 miles all in the space of 24 hours!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bedford Hospitals Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. Doug Alcock
