Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
On 1st August 2009 we will be undertaking the "3 Peaks Challenge" in order to raise money for "VSO" which is the world’s leading independent, international development charity that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries... Please take a short time to read this page and donate what you can for this very worthy cause....
The National 3 Peaks Challenge is a classic challenge where we will attempt to summit Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales), the highest mountains in their respective countries, within 24hrs!! This is a great, but huge physical and mental challenge.
So, what does this challenge actually involve? Firstly, we travel up to Scotland. Then we will set off to tackle:
Ben Nevis, 1344m high. This should take around 5 hours to the summit and back. Then we will start the 5.5 hour drive down to:
Scafell Pike, 978m high. This should take around 5 hours to the summit and back. Then, we start the 5.5 hour drive down to:
Snowdon, 1085m high. This final summit should take around 2 hours to the summit where the challenge is completed, hopefully within 24 hours!
VSO have kindly agreed to let us take part in this monumental challenge on the obvious understanding that we raise money for their extremely worthy cause. They have given me a minimum target of £5000, which we need to raise in order to take part in the event.
So please sponsor us now!
Thank you very much.
