Story
This is quite long so basically... Us: 2 blokes, 3 mountains, 550 miles of cycling, 5 days. You: Raise £2500 for Erskine. Boom.
Have you ever wanted to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales at over 3300 metres, cycle 550 miles and do it all in 5 days? No...pe?! Neither have we. In fact Leo would rather stick a fork in his eye and quite honestly the trip from the sofa to the biscuit tin is stressful enough for Ferg!
This charity challenge may be the first of a number of great adventures from Team FLIP FLOP (Ferg and Leo's Interesting Pursuits with Ferg and Leo, Obviously Punk) as we try to follow in the footsteps of some of the world's greatest adventurers - Indiana Jones, Bill and Ted, and of course our personal favourite, Ben Fogal.
We want you lovely people to sponsor us because it's the damn decent thing to do. If that isn't enough for you, we are pretty sure you will all be able to raise a grin (or perhaps a penny or two) just at the thought of us both in insurmountable pain and pure misery for five whole days.
On a more serious note, we are doing this to recognise and support our war veterans, who everyday do things that most of us can honestly say we would never do. Erskine has been looking after our veterans for almost 100 years and is the leading care organisation for ex-Service men and women in Scotland. They do an awesome job for all veterans and we want to help them... which is where we need you to help us!
We will reward you by keeping what will surely be a fairly bland video diary. This will mainly consist of Ferg doing stereotypical regional accents into a handlebar mounted camera and action shots of Leo gliding gaily up the hills and falling off at junctions after forgetting that his feet are clipped firmly into the pedals. This will go viral and give us the launch into stardom that we have both been working towards our whole lives.
We will get to the top of Nevis on Ferg's birthday so feel free to join us on our last ascent for a few beers at the top and to carry us back down to sea level. We would also appreciate places to stay and free pizzas on our route. If you guys raise £2000 before we leave, we will shave our legs. Partly because Leo really wants to as that's what real cyclists do (no idea why), but mainly because Ferg really doesn't want to at all and everyone likes to see Fergus Huffington Post Huffleberry Finn Huffingtosh in a deep state of huff.
Some challenge related puns for you all: Snowdon in Wales will be tough, im not sure we will 'leek' it much...yeoo! Scafel Pike is number two mountain, hopelfully we will look back at it and say, 'well we really 'Rose' to that challenge...yeoo! Ben Nevis...'thistle' be tough...hehe! If you want more puns, or more likely, less puns, then please sponsor and we promise to use puns less, sometimes... :) x
