My story

Thankyou for visiting our fundraising page!!!! Please take a brief minute to read my itinerary =)

Donating through Justgiving is QUICK, EASY and TOTALLY SECURE.

It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us. Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

The 3peaks challenge is a strenuous, tiring battle against mind over matter. It requires sound knowlegde of each individual area, the ability to concentrate safely whilst on the road for long periods of time and being able to overcome any weather eventualities.

8 walkers+ 2 drivers + 3 mountains + 3 countries    =   24 hours

Friday 3rd July we drive to Scotland and ensure a good nights sleep at one of the hostels in Fort William, near Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Scotland!
I have chosen July, as it is not uncommon to find 8feet of snow on Ben Nevis in April. Ben Nevis is a 10mile round trip. It stands 1344 metres high and is located in the western Highlands of beautiful Scotland =) Route to be decided.
The clock starts 4PM Saturday 4th July. Depending on weather conditions and pace, we aim to complete Ben Nevis by 9PM.

After refuelling and pot noodleing, we take the M8 for a 300mile journey (6hr drive) down to Wasdale Head in the Lake District. Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England and stands 978 metres high. The problem... we complete this climb at NIGHT! The route we will be taking should take us approximately 4hours.

At this point (3:30am sunday 5th July) we ascend Scafell Pike enjoying the beautiful early morning views of the Lakes (depending on visibility).

OKAY, so now it is 7am

A595 to Broughton Furness, then the A5092 to Penny Bridge and then the A590 to junction 36 of the M6. We leave the M6 at junction 20 and join the M56 at junction 9, leave this then follow the A5117 to Queensferry and then the A55 to junction 11 and turn onto the A4244 and then the A4086 to Llanberis.

A 4 1/2 hour 200mile journey to Snowdon, our local :D

Leaving us 4 1/2 hours to climb, starting at the Pen-y-pass carpark, near the youth hostel.

Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and stands 1084metres high. I have yet to decided the route...
either
-pyg track, 3 1/4 miles, rugged, challenging but beautiful views
-miners track, 3 3/4 miles, easy at first, steep towards the top

4pm sunday 5th July we complete the challenge

As simple as that- yeh?

So please sponsor us now!
