Some bright spark had the idea of doing the Three Peaks Challenge for 'fun' and for charity. So on the weekend of 14/15th June, six of us will be driving oooop North to start our first ascent. We'll be climbing Ben Nevis on Saturday evening just before sunset, then travelling through the night to start on Scafell Pike Sunday morning , and lastly, tackling Snowdon Sunday afternoon.
If we succeed in our challenge we’ll have climbed more than 3400metres (over 11,100ft), almost the height of Mount Cook (NZ), and done a round trip of 1,148 miles, the equivalent of driving London to Bucharest.
Easy. What’s there to be worried about? As expected, a strict training programme is underway – mainly working on the glutes.
All money raised goes to a fantastic charity - Macmillan Cancer Support, http://www.macmillan.org.uk/ - so please do dig deep and sponsor us online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure and is also the most efficient way to sponsor us. Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support,
