In memory of James and Christopher McCallion

Llanberis MRT is one of the busiest in the UK with an annual callout rate of over 220 incidents. Based in and around the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) area the team is made up of about 50 volunteers who are all experienced mountaineers. As a registered charity we rely entirely on your donations.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

The challenge will consist of climbing the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales all in a 24 hour period including driving time. The team is made of 5 runners and 2 support crew and will take place on the 1st July 2009.

Early on the 1st February 2009 two of my brothers James and Christopher were returning down from the summit of mount Snowdon after a weekend away walking. Unknown to them, fresh snow had fallen on top of hard packed ice along the track. As they continued walking down the snow gave away and they very sadly both slipped and fell 700 feet to there deaths.

As a thank you to them for all the hard work, putting there lives in danger and help they give, and the fact they are a non government funded charity and rely on donations I have decided that I would like to raise money for the LlanBerris mountain rescue team based at mount Snowdon in North Wales. This could be the one thing that saves someone else’s family going through what mine is now.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.

Tomas McCallion and the whole team.
