Taunton Half Marathon · 27 February 2008

When Royal Marines and their families need help, we’re there - with practical, financial, and emotional support for life.

Story

We men and women of a certain age ran the Taunton Half Marathon on the 6th April 2008 to raise money for the Royal Marines 1939 War Fund, which provides vital support for Marines and former Marines and their families who are in need.

As you may know we have a Royal Marines base in Taunton - there is a good chance if you live locally that you have a friend or relative who is a serving or retired Royal Marine. There is no doubt the effects of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are having a profound effect on some people in Somerset. Families have lost loved ones and a number of men have been badly injured and need support. So whether or not you agree with these wars, please support our efforts to help local men and their families, who are going through a great deal.

Royal Marines 1939 War Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
