deafPLUS is a charity dedicated to enabling deaf, hard of hearing and visually impaired people to get the most out of life. We believe passionately that whatever our ability to hear or see we all have the same desire to communicate, stay safe and participate in society.

<div id="story" class="frp-message-body" style="height: auto;"> <p>Hello everybody,</p> <p>deafPLUS are celebrating their 40th anniversary, so to celebrate we have an exciting event coming up.</p> <p><strong>Please note: tickets cannot be bought via this JustGiving page. This page is solely for donations. If you would like to buy tickets please contact events@deafplus.org for more information.</strong></p> <p>On Saturday 10th September 2011, deafPLUS are planning a BBQ 40th birthday fundraiser event from 1pm till 7pm at Highgate Newtown Community Centre, 25 Bertram Street, London, N19 5DQ.<br /><br />Programme:<br />1pm - Open<br />2.00pm - Sign Dance International - a short play<br /><span class="text_exposed_show">2.15pm - Deafinitely Theatre - 'The Boy &amp; The Statue'<br />3.00pm - Sign Dance International - 'New Gold'<br />5.30pm - Speech followed by Raffle &amp; Birthday cake!<br />7pm - Close<br />Also from 1pm - 3pm there will be opportunity to learn how to make soap with LUSH cosmetics!
