Story

Fundraising for The Silver Star Society fund number 0347:

Since 2012 I, along with family and friends have raised approximately £30,000 towards Professor Redmans (based at the jr in Oxford) research into Pre-Eclampsia. Every year we fund raise towards this cause, here’s why:

On the 22 September 2011 at 35 weeks pregnant my partner Jonathan and I received the most devastating news that our unborn baby had passed away, due to a Placental Abruption caused by severe Pre-Eclampsia. My condition quickly deteroriated and I was transferred from our local hospital to be induced and cared for by the Silver Star Unit for high risk pregnancies at the John Radcliffe in Oxford. Our son William Noah Pollard Bond was delivered on the 23 September and was just lovely weighing in at 4lbs 14oz.

During the most tragic time of our lives the care and support myself and Jonathan received from the Silver Star Unit was second to none and words cannot describe how grateful I feel that my life was saved and that the team helped us through those initial days following William’s passing.

In 2012 I became pregnant again, and while we were delighted with the news, we were also terrifed the same thing would happen again, however the team at the Silver Star unit supported through this anxious time and our 2nd son Toby Joseph was born on the 26th November 2012! We were elated! In 2015 we called upon the units help again when our third child, a daughter called Neve was born!

Needless to say we are enternally grateful to everyone at the Silver Star and we plan to continue to fund raise for the Silver Stars research into Pre Eclampsia as a legacy to Williams memory, and to show thanks for Toby, Neve and all Silver Star Families.

Once again, we ask you to help us with our cause!

THANK YOU
