Story

Our Bit:

Over the summer of 2010 my grumpy old dad came down with a sever case of IgA Nethropathy, a kidney disorder which resulted in total kidney failure. Soldiering on he continued to go to work, taking his dialysate in a coolbag and performing dialysis in the boardroom twice a day, however towards September his kidney function dropped very low. After months of to-and-fro-ing to the hospital and back a matching kidney was found, and he went under the knife in december, emerging from the hospital just before Christmas.

The work of Kidney Research UK was obviously invaluable, and having been through watching my spritely but stern old man look increasinly and uncharacteristically scared as the days went on, a small group of friends and myself deemed it a worthwhile cause to raise money for, as had my dad's condition been caught early enough, it could have been much more rapidly and effectively treated. My grumpy old dad made a full recovery.

William Pratt (20), Jack Robinson (20), Philip Goodliffe (20), and Matt Ward (19), are cycling from the bottom-most point in the UK, Lands End, to the very top of Scotland, John O'Groats, from the 28th of August to the 10th of September, hoping to raise money for Kidney Research UK, any donations towards this amazing cause would be greatly appreciated, as little or as much as you can or want to donate, you lovely people you.

Thank you ever so much.
