Story

My word that hurt !

4 hours 5 minutes of running and I finally made it across the finish. It truly is an amazing event. From the time when I bumped into the Chicken at Wimbledon Station till the time when I had to go back to The RAC to pick up my keys I had left there, the day was full of emotion and physical brutality.

Don't let anybody fool you. This is tough stuff. More mental than anything else but a real experiance to savour of total human goodness. When you see that your following a guy who had a picture of his wife who had passed away the year before stuck on his back, and he is raising money for heart disease which killed his wife, you can understand something truly amazing is happening.

I loved it. I hate it now ... but when I look how much money we have raised then all the pain goes away. (Nearly !)

Thanks to all those who have clicked and sponsored. This money will make a big differance.

The charity I was running for is Clic Sargent. They are the largest Cancer and Leukaemia charity dedicated to the care of children and their families. Everybody knows a Cancer sufferer and Clic gives huge support both to the child and their family. Look at there website http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/  I did and the fact that they give practical and sensible help to those effected made me want to run and raise money for them.

All the money you donated on this site goes straight to the charity.

If you haven't, please sponsor me now, once again to those who have, Thankyou.

Many thanks for your support.

Each day in the UK five families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on their lives will never be the same again. Most children will survive, some will die, but the scars on every family will remain. CLIC's role is to try and help these children and their families cope and keep life as normal as possible. It offers an all-embracing approach including practical hands-on care, clinical services, financial and emotional support. CLIC has joined together with Sargent Cancer Care for Children to become the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.
