BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Back Up services include mentoring, wheelchair skills training and activity courses as well as support in getting back to work or school after an injury. We provide peer led tailored support to help people adjust to a spinal cord injury and inspire independence and confidence for a positive future.

Story

Dear all,

On Sunday 20th September, Chris, Jim Bob, Tim and Henry will attempt to navigate our way around  the 13.1 miles that make up the Great North Run. This is a big challenge, as the Great North Run is commonly known as the most gruelling half marathon in the UK, and let's face it - we are hardly supreme athletes! We are raising money for the Back Up Trust, please donate whatever you can, every penny counts...

Thanks from the 4 Fat Lads...

THE BACK UP TRUST

Approximately 3 people every day have an accident or injury that results in permanent paralysis through damage to the spinal cord.

Over 40,000 people in the UK have a spinal cord injury (SCI), the majority of whom are wheelchair bound. Back-Up is a small, dynamic and professional charity that runs a range of services for people with SCI as well as their friends, family and volunteers to encourage independence, self-confidence and motivation following a life changing injury.
