Four Great Nurses One Great Wall......

This year us four nurses are setting out on a fundraising journey! With the peak being next Sept 2013 when we face a rather long trek (nearly 50kms over 5days) up and down the Great Wall of China which should be a very interesting experience for us all!!

For a start Helen will never be seen out in walking boots, Sian will be lost along the way, Sarah will probably not make the departing plane on time and Laura, errr...did somebody mention hostel???

We are going to be undertaking many events throughout the year including, midnight walks, bag packing, bike rides, raffles, disco events, wherever you look we will be there shaking our green buckets.....and the Delamere team will hopefully be right there with us... they are sending us off to China perhaps hoping we will not return!! But all helping towards a big target for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity in 2013

Clatterbridge, annually deliver 33,000 outpatient chemotherapy treatments and 2,000 inpatient chemotherapy episodes of care. In addition to the chemotherapy services available at Wirral based site, the Centre also delivers chemotherapy treatments at weekly clinics in seven locations across the region. These nurse-led clinics are held in district hospitals and again help bring our expertise and treatments ‘closer to patients’. Last year, the Delamere chemotherapy nursing team delivered just under 33,000 outpatient chemotherapy treatments. Of these 63% were delivered at off-site clinics - making this one of the most comprehensive network of chemotherapy clinics anywhere in the UK. I don't know how we are going to fit the fundraising in as well!
