The <a style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; text-decoration: none; color: #d8471d; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: #ffffff; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;" title="The Adventurists" href="http://rickshawrun.theadventurists.com/index.php" target="_blank">Rickshaw Run</a> is a modern day adventure in which dozens of teams from the around the world get together to race across India driving the most unsuitable vehicle imaginable… the Auto-Rickshaw. Loud, uncomfortable, prone to breaking down and completely useless at protecting you from the elements the Rickshaw is possibly the worst choice of vehicle for covering the entire sub-continent in 2 weeks. Nevertheless, we feel there is a certain charm found in the 7hp, 150cc engine, and will be attempting to travel the ~5000km from Kochin in the South to Shillong in the North East. We are not just doing this for our own enjoyment (perhaps not the right word), but for a very worthwhile cause: The <a style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; text-decoration: none; color: #d8471d; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: #ffffff; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;" title="IRC" href="http://www.theirc.org/" target="_blank">IRC</a> is a United Nations registered emergency Urban Search and Rescue organisation which has over the last thirty years responded to natural disasters around the world, using its specialist skills and resources to rescue victims. They are entirely dependent on voluntary contributions. Any donations towards this charity's operating cost would mean a lot both to them and the team. We are aiming to raise at least £5000 between the <a href="http://www.justgiving.com/4inashaw" target="_blank">IRC</a> and RDA but hopefully much more.
