In June 2011 David Cranston with two colleagues are climbing the 4 Peaks again 10 years on from their last effort. Somewhat older but not much wiser, they will be challenging a younger generation from the same families.
Over 48 hours they will hope to climb 14,000ft up and down Helvellyn, Snowdon and Carantouhill, Ben Nevis four of the highest peaks in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. Meanwhile, the fourth team member, the reliable driver, will rest while they climb; then take to the roads to drive the 1,000 miles between the peaks, letting the climbers recharge their batteries.
