Thank you for visiting the fundraising page for The Main Ridge 59ers!
In the 24 hours between 4pm on May 15th 2011and 3.30pm on May 16th 2011 we attempted and successfully completed the 3 Peaks Challenge!
For those of you who don't know what this is, our group; with an average age of 59, conquered the highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in less than 24 hours.
The mountains we crawled/climb/waded through, in order of elevation, are Ben Nevis in Western Scotland, 1,344 metres (4,409 ft), Snowdon in North Wales, 1,085 metres (3,560 ft), and Scafell Pike in North-Western England, 978 metres (3,209 ft).
After enduring severe weather conditions for the whole 24 hour period, including deep snow, gale force winds and a relentless driving rain, our team emerged successful. Tired, sore, soaked to the skin, bruised and somewhat broken everyone had an enormous smile on their face when they arrived back down at the base of Ben Nevis and through the winners tape! A huge accomplishment for all concerned and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Your money is going to a very worthwhile cause!
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity get even more!
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you for your support.
