Update on progress! - Tuesday evening 17th August 2010

We left London on Friday morning and cycled to Newhaven via a brief stop in Reigate. Oli has already had our first puncture!

We caught the late ferry to Dieppe on Friday night and slept in a local field once we got across the channel.

On Saturday we set off and arrived in Beauvais where we stayed Saturday night.

TAMO had a tumble.... OOOOOPS (T-LOLASAURUS REX!)

On Sunday we covered 80 miles but found a lovely dutch holiday camp in Pommeuse. We plan to cover 180 fun filled miles in the next 2 days before donning a mustard moustache in Dijon! LMAO!

Monday - we have made it as far as Troyes and although we have one or two bike problems, we hope to get everything sorted tomorrow morning and be on the way. We hope to make it as far as Dijon by Tuesday evening but a lot will depend on how soon we can get the repairs to the bikes done.

Tuesday - Not our best day as we had to sort a few bike problems out before we could get on our way. Managed about 65 miles and ended up a little North West of Dijon at a place called Saint-Martin-du-Mont. Hope for a better day tomorrow!

Thursday - We have reached Lyon and hoping to press on and reach the South of France by the weekend!

Friday - Managed about 80 miles today and we are now setting up camp in Valence.

Saturday - Reached a Camp site near Orange with the help of the local police who found us cycling on the motorway by mistake!

Sunday - Stayed in a cheap hotel with only one three bed room available so will be drawing lots to see which three of us will be sleeping on the floor!

Tuesday 10th - Have now got as far as Cannes and a big thanks to Chris Bartram who has invited us to a BBQ! We have a few bike problems mainly to Fenners, Watty and Foz and we hope to get these sorted in the morning and be on the way. About 440 miles to go!

Tuesday 17th August

Sorry not to have updated page over the last week but we have finally arrived in Rome (see picture). Have had a few problems with bikes over the last few days and got a little lost last night but it has all been worth it.

Thanks for the welcome on arrival from the girls and thanks again to all those who have supported us and given such generous donations.

Look forward to seeing everybody when we return but will not want to go on any bike rides for a while!!!!!

Fenners, Foz, Watty, Tame, Oli & Rowan
