Story

Well we did it.  Unlike most of the teams, we were able to do the climb on the Friday before the rain set in and had wonderful views almost to the top. We weren’t the quickest team up the mountain but we did get to the top and we were really proud of the children, especially Esther who only turned 8 the week before. Our only mishap was when Tricia stumbled close to the bottom and catapulted Lottie out of her dog back pack and over Tricia’s head!  Lottie landed standing up.  Tricia didn't! Thanks again for all your contributions. We have managed to raise a good amount so far but hope to get the total a little higher still, so if you haven't thrown any money our way yet please feel very free to do so now!

As Mum and Dad have done trekking in Peru, run the streets of London and the hills of St Albans to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, we thought it was now time for us to get involved too.  So we are joining Elliot's (and soon to be Amy's) school (Sandringham School in St Albans) in its 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Sandringham and its chosen charity (which as luck would have it happens to be GOSH!).  We will be doing the Snowdon leg as a family on Sunday 1st July, climbing 1085 metres and walking for something like 7 hours - not something we have ever done before!!

So the walking boots have been bought and the training has begun, although we're not too sure how the Alban Way compares with the ascent up Snowdon!  Anyway, Mum has promised to bring lots of chocolate biscuits and Dad has promised not to sing so we're up for the challenge.

We're told that donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure and that it is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: the School will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

If you want to check out the 'parent' web site for the challenge please visit http://www.justgiving.com/sandringham3peaks where you will be able to see just how much other money has been raised so far.

Please give if you can.
