Story

Thank you for visiting the Connect 5K Team fundraising page.

Over 50 women successfully completed the adidas Women's 5K Challenge on Sunday 7 September!

Please sponsor the team to help us reach our goal of £12,000, and help Connect to continue to support more people with aphasia across the UK.

Connect staff, volunteers, people with aphasia, relatives and health professionals all took part to help raise awareness of aphasia and vital funds for Connect.

About the charity

Connect is a national charity for people living with aphasia (communication disability) which is often caused by stroke. Aphasia can strike anyone at any age and at any time. 1 in every 200 people in the UK lives with aphasia and each person experiences it differently. Some people cannot speak at all, some people have just a few words. It affects reading, writing and numbers. Aphasia can lead to lack of confidence, depression, social exclusion – and people can lose their connection with the world. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our vision is a simple one, we want a world where people with aphasia can re-connect with life again. Find out more about how we do that at www.ukconnect.org
