220 Triathlon Magasine describe Project 65's, 5 marathons in 5 days for injured service personnel as,

' one of the most challenging and demanding events of its kind in the UK'.

Each team will complete 130 miles, a marathon a day for 5 consecutive days across some of the countrys most demanding terrain in aid of injured service men and women.

The fastest Team will be awarded 'The Captain Mark Hale Trophy' a soldier killed recently in Afghanistan trying to rescue an injured comrade.

Our team of 4, Team GOP (grand old party) were brought together by Nick Swinn who completed a 65 Mile ultramarathon in June 09, Project 65's last event.

Brought together over the years through rugby the 4 now live in four different parts of the country, the bond though still remains strong as does the friendship and it took little persuasion (a glass of beer) to get the team to agree to take part.

Every team and team member is doing 130 miles as fast as they can. Team GOP's objective is the same, due to the nature of the event and the terrain to be covered and the risk of injury the team must remain together at all times.

We hope you might be inspired to sponsor us.

Inspired to help the challenging, demanding and costly nature of the rehabilitation of service men and women recovering  from injuries physical and mental suffered in current, past and future military service.

Our aim is £4,000 if you can afford to help please do, if you cant please spread the word.

5 Marathons in 5 days takes place starting from Ilfracombe on 27th May 2010.
