Dawn Raid: February 2016

Dawn Raid - Feb 2016 · 1 February 2016
The formation of No: 600 (City of London) Squadron, RAF Reserves (600SQN) took place on the 14th October 1925 at RAF Northolt.
The 90th Anniversary of 600SQN was on 14th October 2015.
600SQN personnel will be organising/taking part in a number of events during the 90th Anniversary (14 Oct 2015 to 13 Oct 2016) to raise money for our chosen charities.
This Dawn Raid in aid of The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) is one of those events.

Our Mission
An elite fundraising force, handpicked from the ranks of 600SQN volunteers, will be on duty fundraising at the London Railway Stations listed below. The fundraising will commence at Zero Six Hundred Hours Zulu (0600Z) with an End-Ex (cease operations) at Eleven Hundred Hours Zulu (1100Z).
Due to the very early start of our collections (to intercept the morning rush-hour commuters commuters) we are calling our fundraising mission a Dawn Raid.
The reason why we are fundraising between the hours of 0600 and 1100 is so the Reservists of 600SQN only need to take a half-day holiday from their civilian place of work. In addition, by having this collection time on a Monday following a 600SQN training weekend is more compatible with the Reservist's 'civilian work/reservist work/life balance.

Dawn Raid - Monday 1st February 2016
600SQN collected the following amounts at these London Railway stations:-
As this is a Bucket collection, the amounts collected will appear on this page as Offline donations. However should you wish to make a donation simply select the Donate button and follow the JustGiving instructions.

600SQN would like to thank: -
University of London Air Squadron (ULAS): 600SQN were reinforced with five marvellous personnel from the ULAS who volunteered their time to assist us around their lecture/tutorial timetable. The magnificent amount recorded on this page would not have been possible without their invaluable help.
NetworkRail: for allowing us onto their premises to collect for the RAFBF.
and finally, everyone who has taken part in this fundraising project.
