60 mile skate for poverty · 8 September 2008

United Purpose is an international development charity with an innovative community led approach to delivering the Sustainable Development Goals and eradicating global poverty and inequality.

Story

Calum, Rob and I are going to be attempting to skate 60 miles for poverty, on the 10th of October  for World Poverty Day which is on friday the 17th.

This will be taking place at Dorney Lake and will hopfully take no more than 8 hours (including breaks).

60 Miles was chosen as the perfect number as this world poverty day also marks the 60th anniversary of the universal decleration of human rights.

We will be doing this along side at least a few others (many of whom are pictured in the photo), although some of them will be pushing their endurance to the limit with a 24 hour ultraskate from the evening of the 9th to the evening of the 10th.

Please support us, we are pushing ourselves to our limits and hopefully you will see how dedicated we are to our cause.

More information can be found on www.skatefurther.com

More information about the charity we are supporting and their work can be found at www.concern-universal.org .

Many thanks,

-Pete, Rob, Calum and the others at skatefurther.com
