Latest Update Thursday 8th July 2010

LATEST NEWS - WHAT A DAY!

On Tuesday the 6th July, the sun shone, the wind dropped and the swans swam.  After 11 hours and 57 minutes, Captain Bryn set foot on the french coast with Rule Britannia blaring over Eddie's loud speaker.

All the swans performed fantastically.

Many thanks to Eddie the pilot, his crew and Irene our CS & PF observer.

Many thanks to everyone that supported us with donations and good wishes.  We could not have done it without you.

Thank you for visiting our page.

On the 5th July 2010 six of us connected to the St Neots Swans Masters Swimming Club, are entering the Mel Watkins Challenge.  The Mel Watkins Challenge is an annual relay race whereby teams attempt to complete the English Channel crossing - each swimmer completes 1 hour before handing over to a teammate. This year the Channel Swimming and Pilot Federation have decided support the Challenge to raise funds for the Kent Air Ambulance Trust. The trust provides an Air Ambulance for Kent, Surrey and Sussex, a service, like the RNLI, funded entirely by public voluntary contributions.‘Six Swans a Swimming’ are supporting the CS&PF by supplying the swimmers and raising funds.

For us, completing the crossing itself is enough of a challenge but the fun of a race adds a degree of pressure to avoid complete humiliation.  Please support however you can.

All proceeds will be going to the Kent Air Ambulance Trust -  Saving Time - Saving Lives
