Ken Barlow was inspired to do his first charity event, a cycle ride across Cuba for the Meningitis Trust after the death of a close friends baby son from Meningitis. Since then he has met many people whose lives have been affected by Meningitis and is determind to continue fundraising and completing challenges until a vaccine is found to eradicate the disease.

Ken decided that his 2005 challenge would be to cycle Lands End to John O'Groats non stop in relay formation in under 72 hours. For this he gathered together a team of three cyclists and one driver. The cyclists Ken Barlow,Alan Hoose and David Scott will each cycle in rotation changing over every 3 hours. Gary Squire will drive the support vehicle and David Scott is also the teams mechanic.

Ken has set the team a target of at least £10,000 to raise from this challenge.
