Over 50 Cubs and Scouts from One of Ilford’s Biggest Scout Groups will do a Sponsored walk between 7 and 10 miles long around the Borough of Redbridge to raise much needed funds for improvements to Hargreaves District Scout Centre and Haiti Earthquake Appeal. The walk will take place on Saturday 27th March 2010.

The walk will start from Gardens of Peace Cemetery, Hainault, at 8am. The intrepid Scouts will walk around 11 Mosques in Redbridge, ending the Walk at Victoria Road Islamic Community Centre, Barking at approximately 4pm.

Hargreaves is an amazing facility for Scout groups. The grounds include a field for camping; climbing wall; archery section; a hall for indoor activities; indoor sleeping accommodation for scouts; a safe area for camp fire; an amazing obstacle course; a miniature farm; and a scout shop. The indoor-sleeping accommodation is in urgent need of improvement and modernisation. The walk is to raise funds for new indoor-sleeping accommodation to be called Hush inn II.

7th Goodmayes are saddened by the earthquake in Haiti and the difficulties the people of the island are facing, They will therefore be contributing 10% of all sponsorship money raised to the Haiti Earthquake Appeal (Via Islamic Relief, Charity Reg No. 328158).
