8 Counties Cycle Ride · 3 September 2008

A local charity working with Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire hospitals. Helping Prostate cancer sufferers, by raising funds for new innovative equipment, funding specialist nurses, offering support, and raising local awareness of the disease in local men.

Story

You may know little about  cancers that specifically affect men. While you may recently have read of a breakthrough in the treatment of prostate cancer for men, men are sadly 20 years behind women in the treatment of some cancers.

It killed Jeanne's husband (pictured) last year and every day robs many families of a father, brother, son or uncle.

The men need all the support we women can offer: We know to our cost it is a sadder world without them.

If you have any spare cash rattling around, have found a fiver in a coat lining or haven't done what you consider to be your bit for charity this year it would be great if you could support us on this cycle.

You can learn more about the charity here -

The team aims to cycle through 8 counties in one day on a route that will take in Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire and cover around 75 miles.
