WHAT ARE WE DOING? We start walking from Cape Wrath, Britain's most north-western point on May 16th and will arrive at Lizard Point, the southernmost area of Britain, on August 22nd.

Our journey will lead us along all The Cape Wrath Trail & The West Highland Way arriving in Glasgow on June 15th.

A train journey to Carlisle takes us to the start of The Cumbrian Way. We then head south to join The Dales Way & The Ribble Way arriving in Preston on July 3rd.

Another train journey to Prestatyn and the start of Offa's Dyke. 20 days later, including some R&R at the Eistedffod in Llangollen, will see us reaching the end of the trail at Sudbury Cliffs.

Just one more train journey to Minehead where we will trek across Exmoor to joinThe South West Coast Path for the final leg to Lizard Point...the last 260+ miles and over 45,000 feet of climbing. (But we do aim to fortify ourselves with a visit to Jamie Oliver's restaurant as we pass along the coast!)

WHY ARE WE DOING IT? Travelling slowly down Britain seems like a good way to spend some time..Wild camping; campsites; youth(!)hostels; B&B's and hotels....camping stove; hostel cookers; pub grub....starlight;headtorches; electric lights....we'll be using them all. We feel privileged to have the choice. The people we are raising money for have limited, if any, choice in many areas of their lives. Please visit Practical Action's website for details of the projects they undertake  www.practicalaction.org  which are empowering families and communities in developing countries.

e.g.£4800 can enable a community of around 500 people to build a 6KW micro-hydro system. As well as providing power for domestic lighting and cooking, income-generating opportunities, such as an electric mill for grain-milling, can be developed

WHAT ARE WE ASKING YOU TO DO? We would like to raise £5 a mile and we are asking you to 'walk' with us for as many virtual miles as your feet can stand!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us as Practical Action will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support. Dani and David
